My Favorite Things #1: Chartreuse

Everyone who knows me well, is aware of how much I am obsessed with the color chartreuse.  Popular or not, I don’t care, I love this odd shade.  Chartreuse, a sophisticated color in between green and yellow name derives its from the French herbal liqueur that was originally created in the 1740s by Carthusian monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery.  The liqueur comes in two types, green Chartreuse and yellow Chartreuse, the latter being milder and sweeter.  Just as the liqueur the color also ranges in shade, leaning more towards olive on one end or more towards yellow on the other.  It also varies in intensity from more muted to tones to almost acidic shades.
