Proceeds will underwrite SFMOMA’s education and exhibition programs to engage residents in the Bay Area, including over 55,000 children, teachers, and families, each year.

Honorary chairs this year are Carla Emil and Rich Silverstein, with Katie Schwab, Allison Speer and Stanlee Gatti as co-chairs, and Douglas Durkin as Designer Forum Chair.

The modern answer to the Fall Antique Show SF20 features 45 of the most renowned dealers of 20th century decorative and fine arts from across the United States and Europe.  Scheduled to participate are R Gallery and Hostler-Burrows from New York, Hedge, Fraenkel Gallery, Altman Siegel Gallery, and Silverman Gallery from San Francisco, Dragonette, Meier Ferrer and Reform from Los Angeles, as well as The Silver Fund and Robert Bowman Gallery from London.  I would love it if the latter could bring South African artist Willie Bester’s life-size “Trojan Horse” sculpture he created in remembrance of the Trojan Horse Massacre in Athlone,  South Africa in 1985.  What an amazing piece!

Tea With Claudia: Jamie Drake

My interview with Jamie Drake was conducted in a unique location, an elegant display room for De Sousa Hughes on the first floor of the Showplace Square building in the San Francisco Design Center. Having High Tea behind display windows was a first for both my guest and myself. As busy designers were walking by we sipped on Organic Darjeeling Estate by Mighty Leaf Tea, nibbled on various tea sandwiches fromLovejoy’s Tearoom and chatted about the evolution of a creative child to an established designer, about show houses, color, and inspiration.
